On any given week there are hundreds of shows to see in New York City. It’s impossible to hit all of them, so the experts on the My Social List team will be hand-picking their “can’t miss” artists for the week.
Who They Are: Dusted is a two-piece band consisting of Brian Borcherdt and Leon Taheny. You should know Borchedrt from Toronto’s Holy Fuck, one of the best bands of the last decade You can also catch Holy Fuck supporting !!! on Friday the 13th at Webster Hall (tickets).
What They Sound Like: Where Holy Fuck excel at… I don’t know what you’d call it; electronic-dance-rock? Dusted put away the dancing shoes and take a step back, playing a reverb-soaked mix of rock that is often minimal, almost singer-songwriter at times, but also knows when to lift off. Dusted is exactly what a side/solo project should be.
What They’re Up To: Their debut album, Total Dust, was released last year on the Hand Drawn Dracula label.
Where To See ‘Em: You have two chances this week, on Saturday the 14th you can hit up Rockwood Music Hall stage 2 (info here) and/or on Sunday they also play at Brooklyn Bowl’s Schoolnight with Until the Ribbon Breaks, which is FREE with an RSVP (which you can do here).
