We sure dig Glasslands, having presented shows at the venue recently; featuring the likes of Diarrhea Planet, Potty Mouth, Yvette and more.
Shows at Glasslands have recently always been for people aged 21 and over, but now they are hosting some shows for those who are the sprightly age of 18. If you’ve not long began growing hair in funny places, keep an eye on the events page and see if you’re allowed out, maybe even on a school night!
We’re all about inclusion here at My Social List, so we’re pretty happy that the venue is allowed to open its doors to more people a few times a month, some of which are listed below the jump, as well as helpful documentary footage for when you head out into the world.

NYC Popfest has been bringing sunny-sounding guitar bands to New York since 2007 and usually has a trick or two up its sleeve. Last year featured the Monochrome Set’s first US shows in 30 years as well as the great New Zealand band, The Bats.
So far, the lineup this year offers a few intriguing options, including Swedish band The Garlands and California band Heathers (stream both bands below). On the nostalgia front, Flatmates and Haywains are both UK bands from the 80s.
You can currently buy 4-day passes for $60 and the initial line up is below the jump.

Vivian Girls may have just played their last shows but Katy Goodman’s La Sera announced details for their third album, Hour of the Dawn, which is set for release by Hardly Art on the 13th of May.
To coincide with the release, the band has just announced a show at Baby’s All Right on the 10th of May and tickets are available now, follow La Sera here for all NYC show announcements.
The first single has just been released, called Losing to the Dark, which you can listen to below as well as an album teaser and tracklisting. Sees the Light was my favourite record of 2012, so my expectations are high and this is a great start!

Vivian Girls said goodbye with two Brooklyn shows this weekend that combined fans, friends, family, sweat, tears, joy and celebration, with just the odd hint of sadness.
The first night was at my favourite venue, Death By Audio, a perfect match from their DIY beginnings. That they decided to play here instead of a much larger venue, which they surely could have, definitely seemed like a treat to long-term fans.

East Village establishment, Lit Lounge, recently celebrated its 12th anniversary with Jonathan Toubin spinning the decks and a live set by The Melvins.
As reported by Bedford and Bowery, they are about to open a second location at the McKibbin Lofts in Bushwick, in a bid to earn the title of “most-hipsters-per-square-foot”.
The venue will feature two levels, featuring a small restaurant/cafe upstairs called Currant Cafe which is due to open in March. You’ve got to wait a little longer for the downstairs club to open in September, though there are currently no plans for live music, but will offer DJs and regular parties.
Foss describes a “very rustic” design consisting of old barn wood, concrete, rusted steel, old leather and ironwork. The downstairs club space will have black-painted concrete walls and floors, with half of the room dedicated to a mural that will change sporadically. Naturally, there will be a platform for gogo dancers.
Brooklyn-band Vivian Girls have just announced via Facebook that they will be breaking up.
They will be bowing out with a show at Death By Audio on the 1st of March. Tickets have just gone on sale HERE so grab them quickly. They have always blown me away as a live band so it should be a great but also a sad evening.
UPDATE: The DBA show sold out and now a final show has been added on the 2nd of March at Baby’s All Right. Ticket info HERE.

Whilst some of you are suffering two-day hangovers and already breaking resolutions, Roomrunner are still in the spirit of giving and you can currently download their whole discography for a “name your price” on their bandcamp page. That of course, means you can get it for nothing should you desire, but it wouldn’t hurt to help the band out with a few bucks if you’re feeling generous.
